Easter

I am still trying to figure out how this Easter thing works...Auntie Kate came over and gave me a giant chocolate egg. Mom & Dad dressed me up like a bunny. All my cousins and I went looking for plastic eggs in Daddy's nina's house in Whittier. Apparently there was one egg w/ $5 in it, but I never found it...I think next year, i need a bigger easter basket!

Beach Day

I had my first day at the beach last weekend...Mom and Dad took me to Manhattan Beach to meet up w/ Dan & Tricia. Mom even bought me a new beach hat! I really enjoyed the sun and the warm sand, but that water was cold!!!!!!

5 months....

Yesterday was my 5 month b-day. I have moved onto some solid foods and getting better at this whole smiling thing...here are few photos of me at 5 months..

Red Eggs & Ginger

What a weekend! My grandparents and great grandparents hosted my Red Egg & Ginger party this weekend at Chef Chu's in Los Altos...Chef Chu must be important because he has his own website...

http://www.chefchu.com/mall/c102/s11_new/History.asp

...It is pretty neat tradition. I got all deck out in my red dress and I wore a very special gold bracelet that one of my great grandmas got for me. Grandpa Lum gave a speech about the day I was born and then we feasted on food, 8 courses in total! The highlight was the first course - dye red eggs (boiled) with pickle ginger. The combination of the two signifies health & fertility for the family. Dad was suppose to roll an egg around my head for luck but everyone decided that I looked too cute to be putting food in my hair so we are going to save that for my 1st birthday cake!

My other highlight of the party was afterwards when I was talking to Grandpa Lum. He told me that he had a Red Egg and Ginger party when he was my age and his was hosted by his grandparents. I guess that means one day when I am grandma and I need to pay the favor forward and host a Red Egg and Ginger bash for my grandkids...wow, that is a lot of pressure!

Here a few pics of the party!

My first flight...

Got to go on my first plane ride this weekend...Los Angeles to San Jose for my Red Egg & Ginger party (LAX to SJC in airplane talk)...Mom and dad had to check a bunch of bags (mostly my stuff), but I told them not to worry, as long as they stay close to me they could cut through most of the long lines...

4 months old

Here is my officially 4 month picture....I officially passed Pooh Bear in size....official pediatrician weigh in...10lbs 8ozs, and just shy of 23 inches long (but we always round up in this family!)

Auntie Starbuck and Valentine's

Auntie Furah/Stabucks came to visit mommy and me this weekend...We kicked dad out of the house for most of the weekend and we had a girls weekend - spa, movies, fine dining, etc. Furah took me to Starbucks every day and introduced me to "lattes"...(Turns out there is a lot more than just milk to drink in this world!) Here are few photos from the weekend...

Boys???

I met a boy this week...Henry Tumpak. I did my research before I invited him over. He comes from a good family - the Tumpaks (Dan and Loanette), good friends of mommy and daddy's and also a LMU family. Henry is a little older than I am (about a month), we have the same hair stylist and we go to the same stroller stride class in Manhattan Beach. We had a lot of fun, we sat on the couch together, napped for a little bit and I even shared some of my toys!

I am a 100 days old this weekend....

Grandpa Cortez emailed me this week and reminded me I am 100 days old this weekend. Personally, I don't think I look a day over 75, but you be the judge (Here are a few photos)???...I figure since I am in the triple digits now, it is time for a party. I invited Auntie Furah down for the weekend and she promised to take me to Starbucks. I am not really sure what Starbucks is but dad seems to know it well since his morning milk cup says it on the side...

4 Generations....

Last week i got to meet the 3rd of my 4 living great grandmas-Grandma Lily...And the meeting was extra special because I am named after her (my middle name)...She made the trip all the way down to Redondo Beach from Sunnyvale. We had some business to discuss regarding my Red Egg and Giner party, mostly finalizing the menu, table assignments and other exciting top secret great grandma type stuff. Here is a picutre from the weekend of the four generations - me, mommy, grandma and great grandma...

Day with Daddy....

Mom had a busy social calendar on Sunday with an afternoon baby shower for Cousin Lauren (I get a new cousin in a couple months) and dinner w/ Jose from work (he was one of the first work people to call mom and dad at the hospital)...So Dad and I got to spend the afternoon and evening together. We had some afternoon tummy/play time with my new favorite stuft animal (see picture below) and then we took the baby jogger out to cruise the neighborhood. After all that I was a little tired and decided to take a little nap on Mom's favorite chair (see pic below)....

Dan Young- you are going down....(UPDATED)

...So I am quickly learning about all the local events in Redondo Beach. One of the bigger one's is the Redondo Beach Super Bowl 10K the first weekend in February. Apparently, my daddy and his friends do this race every year, so I decided to sign up...There are a bunch of different races, but i decided to sign up for the baby jogger division (http://www.redondo10k.com/race_info.html). My primary competition is one of daddy's roommates at LMU. Most of daddy's friends are runner/triathlon people, except for one friend , Thunder Dan Young, who is more of a competitive golfer. I figure I have a decent chance against him....2 more weeks of training!!!! Check out my new baby jogger I got for race day...Stay tuned for results!!!!

RESULTS ARE IN....I MADE MY MOVE WITH A MILE TO GO AND DAN YOUNG RESPONDED WITH A STRONG FINISHING KICK IN THE LAST 100 METERS, I TRIED TO CHASE HIM DOWN, BUT LOST BY A COUPLE YARDS.... FINALS TIME WAS 46:10 (DAN YOUNG) TO 46:11 (ME AND DADDY)....EVEN THOUGH I LOST, I HAD A LOT OF FUN, DAN YOUNG, YOU ARE A MOST NOTE WORTHY COMPETITOR...UNTIL NEXT YEAR!

Deloitte Kids...

...So turns out there is a bunch of kids in the neighborhood. Mom and Dad had their annual tamale party w/ their old Deloitte friends (Klinks, Maders, Forsyths) and we had 5 kids in the house (new house record!). In this picture, Jakey is to my left (6 months), next to him is Addy (2 years old), then Patrick (2 years old) holding his sister Cady (6 months)...Try and guess which kids go to which parents????
